INFO IN ENGLISH

I am a Danish native and an independent researcher of, and expert in, Digital Media and Digital Culture. I used to work at the IT University in Copenhagen at which I studied social media and transmedial worlds for more than 20 years. Currently, I work as an external lecturer at three universities. I work at Roskilde University in their Department of Communication and Arts, supervising MA theses and MA level projects as well as teaching part of the course Digital Media Theory. In the fall term, I teach on the course Media Analysis at the University of Copenhagen, Department of Nordic Studies, and in the spring term, I teach at Copenhagen Business School on the courses in Communication in a Datafied World and Technology and Societal Transformations.

As a researcher, I am interested in the interplay between platform design, group normativity and individual motivations when trying to understand how and why people use commercial social media platforms, or why and how they engage in transmedial activities. My current research interests focus on social media content as serial narratives; mourning practices on social media and AI; and the general shifts in the social media platform ecology.

In Denmark, the External Lecturer position can only be a part-time job, so I am still looking for supplementary job opportunities in Denmark (offline) and all over the world (online).
